Padel Americano in Excel or Google Sheets: template and limits
Download a free spreadsheet with a ready 8-player, 2-court Americano: seven rounds in which everyone partners everyone once, and a standings block that adds up the points as you type the scores. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers. It works well for a fixed group, and less well when numbers change on the night.

It holds all 7 rounds, two matches each, drawn by the Padelato engine so everyone partners everyone exactly once. You type the scores into empty columns, and SUMIF formulas add up each player's points.
It opens in Excel, Google Sheets (File, Import) and Numbers. It uses commas and English formula names, so if your Excel uses semicolons (common in Spain, Italy, Germany and Sweden), import it with Data, From Text and choose comma, or use Google Sheets.
How do I use it on the night?
- Open the file and use Find and Replace to change P1 to P8 into your players' names.
- After each match, type both scores, for example 14 and 10.
- The Points column updates itself. Sort it at the end for the winner.
On r/padel, organisers asked for a free Excel generator for occasional use, for six or more players and up to three courts (r/padel, July 2024).
What a spreadsheet does well
It is free, everyone already has Excel or Google Sheets, and it works offline. You can add columns, colours and your club's logo.
Where it breaks
- Different numbers: 9 or 10 players need a different draw with sit-outs. The schedule pages have one for 5 to 16 players, but you rebuild the sheet yourself.
- Late arrivals and early leavers: you rewrite the rounds still to come by hand while everyone waits.
- Live standings: only whoever holds the laptop sees the table, unless you share a Google Sheet.
- Mistakes: one typo in a formula range makes the totals wrong, with no warning.

Questions people ask
Is there a free padel Americano Excel template?
Yes. This page has a free sheet for 8 players on 2 courts with all seven rounds drawn and the points adding up by themselves. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
How do I use the Americano spreadsheet?
Replace P1 to P8 with your players' names using Find and Replace, then type both scores after each match. The standings block adds up every player's points.
Can a spreadsheet handle odd numbers or late arrivals?
Only with manual work. A different number of players needs a different draw, and a latecomer means rewriting the rounds still to come, so many organisers switch to an app for that.
Can I make a sheet for a different number of players?
Yes. The schedule pages on this site have the draw for 5 to 16 players. Copy the table into a sheet and use the same SUMIF formulas.
