A player has to leave early: what happens to the schedule and the table?
Take the player off the list. The match on court stays as drawn: finish it with a substitute, or re-draw it if it has not started. Every round still to come is redrawn without them, using fewer courts if needed. Their points stay in the table, and they earn nothing for the rounds after they leave.

The match on court
If the round has not started, re-draw it without the player who is leaving. If it is under way, finish the match with a substitute, often a player who was resting, and enter the score as played.
The rounds still to come
Redraw them for the players who remain, on one court fewer if they no longer fill every court.
Their points in the table
The player keeps every point they earned and stays in the table, usually marked as left, so the totals still add up. They earn nothing for the rounds after they leave, not even sit-out credit.
If they come back later the same evening, add them back. They pick up where they left off, with no points for the rounds they missed.
For players arriving late instead, see late arrivals and no-shows.
Questions people ask
What happens to a player's points if they leave an Americano early?
They keep the points they earned and stay in the table, usually marked as left. They earn nothing for the rounds played after they leave.
What if the player who leaves is in the round on court?
If the round has not started, re-draw it without them. If it has started, finish the match with a substitute or a player who was resting, then enter the score as played.
Does someone leaving early mess up the whole schedule?
No. Only the rounds still to come are redrawn. Rounds already played keep their scores, so nobody else's points change.
